Common problems

Fisher & Paykel dishwasher problems: causes and repair

Common Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer problems are dirty dishes, water left in the drawer, a drawer that will not start and leaks; an unsuitable program, a blocked or misfitted filter, a bent drain hose, Keylock or Childlock are causes you can check first. Each drawer of a double DishDrawer runs independently, so one can fail while the other still works. Luxury Appliances Service checks the affected drawer and gives you the repair price before any work.

Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer leaves dishes dirty

Dirty dishes from a DishDrawer can start with the program, loading or filters, which you can check first.

Possible causes: An unsuitable wash program; a spray arm unable to rotate; a filter plate or filter that is blocked or incorrectly inserted.

Check first: Check that dishes clear the spray arm. Clean each drawer's filter plate and drain filter monthly or when food particles are visible, following the care instructions, and refit the filters and spray arm correctly.

When to call: Cleaning stays poor. We check circulation and wash operation.

Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer will not drain

Excess water in a DishDrawer points to the drain path, and the first checks are ones you can make.

Possible causes: A bent drain hose; blocked filters.

Check first: Clean the accessible filters and check visible hose sections for kinks without pulling the appliance out.

When to call: Water remains. We inspect the drain path and pump.

Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer will not start

A DishDrawer that will not start can have a power, closing or lock cause you can check yourself.

Possible causes: No power supply; a drawer not closed properly; Keylock or Childlock on.

Check first: Check that power is available, the drawer is firmly closed and Keylock or Childlock is off.

When to call: The drawer still will not run. We check the power, closure sensing and controls.

Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer leaks water

A leaking DishDrawer can have a hose connection problem, and any other leak needs its water and power turned off.

Possible causes: A drain hose disconnected from the waste pipe; an inlet hose not connected correctly.

Check first: For other leaks, turn off the drawer's water and power supplies.

When to call: The leak continues. Arrange service; we inspect the connections and locate the leak before repair.

Stop using a leaking drawer and turn off its water and power supplies. Leave internal electrical and pump repairs to the technician. Causes and owner checks follow Fisher & Paykel’s use-and-care information, checked in October 2026.

Error codes

Fisher & Paykel dishwasher error codes and flashing lights

Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer codes depend on the controls: integrated drawers show A codes for water supply, drainage, spray pressure, foam and sanitize temperature and F codes for technical faults, older drawers use F and U codes, and Classic drawers U and E codes. The meanings below follow Fisher & Paykel’s use-and-care information, checked in October 2026. Write down the full code and the drawer it came from; for a flood or leak code, stop the wash and turn off the drawer’s water and power.

Call (786) 808-7771

Why do the wash and lock lights flash together on my DishDrawer?
A technical fault has been detected in an integrated DishDrawer. Note the indicator pattern and follow the reset instructions for your controls. Arrange service if it returns. The wash-modifier lights flash with the lock indicator for F faults; A faults use the wash-modifier indicators alone.
Can an F fault clear after resetting a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?
A reset may clear an F fault on applicable integrated DishDrawer controls. Follow the reset instructions for your dishwasher. If the warning returns, arrange a check of the affected drawer.

What does U6 mean on a Classic Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?
A loose spray arm or low water pressure. Check the accessible arm under the care instructions; arrange a water-feed and wash-system check if it continues.
What do E1 or E2 mean on a Classic Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?
Flooding for E1, or a motor fault for E2. For E1, stop use and turn off water and power. Arrange a leak check for E1 or motor-system service for E2.
What does E3 mean on a Classic Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?
A temperature-sensor fault. Incoming water must stay below 149°F (65°C); a tempering valve may be needed. Arrange a sensor and hot-water-supply check.
What do E4, E5 or E6 mean on a Classic Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?
A failed heating element for E4, an internal lid fault for E5, or a drying-fan fault for E6. Stop using the affected drawer and arrange a check of the indicated system.

Our specialization

Your Fisher & Paykel dishwasher repair: visit, diagnostic, parts, warranty

Luxury Appliances Service repairs Fisher & Paykel dishwashers in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, seven days a week, with a $145 diagnostic per appliance, credited toward the repair; the repair price before any work, at market prices with no markup because of the home or the address; original parts directly from the manufacturer, ordered and installed on a return visit if a part is not on hand; and a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. That includes single and double DishDrawer dishwashers in Integrated, Contemporary and Professional styles with SmartDrive wash and drain, and panel-ready drop-door models. We speak Spanish.

Repair or replace

Is your Fisher & Paykel dishwasher worth repairing?

Repair usually makes sense when the rest of the dishwasher is sound: a drainage fault in one drawer can be repaired without replacing a fitted double DishDrawer. A common rule of thumb is that if a repair costs more than half the price of a new dishwasher, replacing it may make more sense, and a replacement also has to fit your cabinet opening and panels. We quote the repair before any work.

Call (786) 808-7771

Can I still use one DishDrawer drawer when the other has a fault?

Usually, yes. Fisher & Paykel says that on double models the other drawer can still be used when only one has a fault; a U4 warning means a fault in the other drawer is preventing use. We repair the affected drawer on its own.

How much is a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher diagnostic?

The diagnostic fee is $145 per appliance, credited toward the repair. You pay it on its own only if you decide not to repair. We give the repair price before work.

FAQ

Fisher & Paykel dishwasher repair questions

A locked drawer, drying fan or rinse-aid setting can look like a dishwasher failure. We separate normal operation and care from persistent wash, drain and sensor faults.

Call (786) 808-7771
Why won’t my Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer open?
Childlock or closed-drawer auto lock may be on. Turn off Childlock under the control instructions. With closed-drawer auto lock, knock once and open the drawer within 30 seconds. Do not force a drawer that remains locked.
Why does my DishDrawer fan keep running after the wash?
To help dry the load: the DishDrawer fan keeps running after a finished wash, which is normal. Arrange service if the noise changes or accompanies a wash failure.
Why is there foam in my Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?
Incorrect detergent, egg residue or too much rinse aid can create foam. Use the recommended dishwasher detergent, rinse excess egg off plates and reduce rinse aid if its setting is too high. For hard-water deposits instead, the rinse-aid setting and detergent amount may need increasing.
Why does my DishDrawer leave water marks on dishes?
The rinse aid may be depleted or set too low. Refill the dispenser and adjust the setting under the care instructions. We check continuing wash and drying problems if the marks persist.
Why doesn’t Knock to Pause work on my DishDrawer?
The Knock to Pause sensor may need installation or calibration work. If the feature no longer pauses washing, arrange a sensor and installation check.
Why does my DishDrawer beep continuously with flashing lights?
A fault has been detected. Note the indicator pattern and the affected drawer. Flashing wash-modifier and lock indicators identify an F fault; wash-modifier indicators alone identify an A fault on applicable integrated DishDrawer controls.
