Common problems
Common Thermador problems are a range igniter that keeps clicking, an oven door that stays locked, a refrigerator with lights but no cooling, a dishwasher that does not drain, an ice maker that stops, a cooktop burner that will not start and a steam oven with no visible steam. Some are normal: clicking during ExtraLow, a door that stays locked until a self-cleaning oven cools and no visible steam above 248°F. We check the affected appliance and quote the repair.
On a Thermador range, shifted burner caps or wet or clogged ports can cause constant clicking or intermittent sparking. Clicking while ExtraLow is active is normal. If clicking continues at other settings or the burner will not light, book range repair; gas repairs are for the technician.
Thermador range keeps clickingA Thermador oven stays locked during self-clean until it cools. If it is still locked once cool, Thermador advises switching it off at the breaker for five minutes, then back on. Arrange service if the door remains locked.
Thermador oven door stays locked or will not closeOn Thermador T36BB110SS and T36BB120SS refrigerators, Showroom mode leaves the lights and display on while cooling is off. Check that setting using your model’s instructions. If cooling stays off, arrange refrigerator service.
Thermador bottom-freezer refrigerator is lit but not coolingFor a Thermador dishwasher that leaves water behind, the manufacturer names blockage at the disposal or air gap, debris in the drain pump and drain-hose routing. The hose needs a high loop 20 to 50 inches above the floor. Our technician checks the drain path and pump to repair the draining problem.
Thermador dishwasher leaves water in the tubCheck whether a scoop is left in the Thermador ice bin. A cube can also jam the arm that measures the ice level and stop production. If ice making does not resume, book service for the freezer’s ice maker.

The manufacturer also advises wiping a dirty igniter with a damp cotton swab after it cools. Thermador codes depend on the appliance: dishwashers show E codes such as E04 for heater electronics and E12 for limescale in the heat pump, T36BB refrigerators show D or E for an electronic fault, induction cooktops show dE in demo mode and E7010 for a Wi-Fi or hood connection problem, and ovens show E0211, E1601 or E0510 when a Home Connect software update fails. The meanings below follow Thermador’s information for each model, checked in October 2026. Write down the full code for the service call; do not open electrical panels or attempt gas or internal wiring repairs.
