Common problems

A JennAir refrigerator with lights on but no cooling may simply have cooling turned off at the control.
Possible causes: Showroom or Demo mode, which turns cooling off and leaves only the interior lighting on; cooling turned off at the control, shown as COOLING OFF.
Check first: Check for Showroom or Demo mode and for COOLING OFF on the display.
When to call: Cooling remains absent. We check the electrical supply and the cooling system.
Temperatures that shift after you adjust a JennAir control can be normal settling while the refrigerator responds to the new setting.
Possible causes: Rechecking before the refrigerator has settled after a control adjustment.
Check first: Wait at least 24 hours between adjustments before rechecking. Aim for about 37°F in the refrigerator and 0°F in the freezer.
When to call: The temperature does not settle or an alert returns. We check the cooling system.
A leaking JennAir refrigerator can point to the household water line or the water filter, and both can be checked without moving it.
Possible causes: A damaged or cracked household water supply line; an incorrectly installed water filter; damaged or missing filter O-rings.
Check first: Check visible connections and the filter fit without pulling out the refrigerator. Damaged or missing filter O-rings need a replacement filter.

Frost in a JennAir freezer section can start with humid air getting in through a door that was left open.
Check first: Clear obstructions and make sure the door closes.
When to call: Frost returns with normal use. We inspect door sealing and the affected cooling section.
JennAir French doors that will not close or seal can point to the hinged seal between them staying turned outward.
Possible causes: The hinged seal between the French doors staying in the outward position instead of folding into place.
Check first: Check for a visible obstruction without forcing the seal.
When to call: The doors still do not close or seal. We inspect the closure problem.
Slow dispensing and less ice from a JennAir refrigerator can start with the water filter or the household water pressure.
Possible causes: A clogged or improperly installed water filter; household water pressure outside the normal 30–120 psi for JennAir water and ice features.
