Common problems
Common Miele washer problems include a dark display, a door that will not lock or release, water left in the drum, no water intake, too much foam and an odor after cool washes. Many start on the house side or in the drain path: a closed faucet or kinked hose stops intake, and a drain hose fixed higher than 3 feet 3 inches or a clogged drain filter leaves water in the drum. Check first: Check the amount of detergent dispensed. On a TwinDos machine, check the dosage setting rather than adding more detergent to a poor wash.

An odor from a Miele washer can build up after a long time without a hot wash, and a cleaning cycle can clear it.
Check first: Run Clean Machine with the specified cleaner or universal powder detergent, following the cycle and care procedure for your model.
When to call: The odor comes with water that will not drain. We check the drainage and repair the fault.

Error codes
Miele washer messages depend on the model: on the WWF 060, F34 means the door lock could not engage and F35 that the door has not released, while US WXR 860 washers show words such as Drainage fault, Water intake fault, Check dosage and Waterproof system activated. Do not force a locked door, and for a Waterproof message close the water faucet. We check the lock, drain or dosing system when a message returns, then quote the repair.
