Common Viking freezer problems include a freezer that runs for long periods, an ice maker that stops and ice that tastes wrong after plumbing work. Some are normal: long compressor runs are expected in very hot weather or a hot room, and after new plumbing Viking says to discard the first three ice harvests. Check first: On VEIL integrated freezers, confirm the ice maker is on and water is connected. On 5 Series all-freezers with a bail arm, set the arm down in ON.

Off-taste or discolored ice after new plumbing in a 5 Series all-freezer can be temporary.

Viking freezers report most conditions in words: on 5 Series all-freezers, oPn means a temperature-sensor fault and HIGH TEMP that the freezer has been too warm for two hours; on VEIL integrated freezers, the messages say the lower unit is too warm, too cold or open. Close the door fully, protect the food and do not open panels or work on the sealed system. We check temperature sensing, cooling and door closure, then quote the repair.
