Common problems
A Dacor microwave drawer whose controls do not respond may be in Control Lock, one that counts down fast without heating is in Demo Mode, and one with no power can have a loose plug; a light that stays off needs bulb service. Luxury Appliances Service checks heating, controls and the electrical system when those settings are not the cause, and gives you the repair price before any work.
Dacor microwave drawer touch controls that do not respond can simply be locked, which you can undo yourself.
Possible causes: Control Lock switched on.
Check first: On DMR24M977 and DMR30M977 drawers, hold CONTROL LOCK for three seconds until LOCK OFF appears.
When to call: The panel remains unresponsive. We check the touch controls and electrical system.
A Dacor microwave that counts down fast without heating points to Demo Mode, a setting you can turn off yourself.
Possible causes: Demo Mode, which runs the timer without heating.
Check first: On DMR24M977 and DMR30M977 drawers, press SETUP/HELP five times; when DEMO OFF? appears, press START/EASY MINUTE. On PCOR30S microwave hoods, touch CLOCK, 0, then STOP/CLEAR.
When to call: Heating still fails in normal operation. We check the heating and control systems.
A Dacor microwave drawer with no power can have a power cord that is not fully connected.
Check first: Check that the plug is tightly connected, but only if you can reach it without pulling out the appliance.
When to call: Power remains absent. We inspect its electrical and control systems.
A Dacor microwave drawer light that does not work points to the bulb, and reaching it is a service job.
Possible causes: A loose bulb; a burned-out bulb.
What to do first: Do not open the microwave casing to reach the bulb.
When to call: The cavity light stays off. We service the lamp and its circuit.
